5 Of the Best Tips for Kids Modeling

Kid models are the most adorable bunch but they are easily the toughest models for photographers and agencies to handle. Modeling definitely takes a toll on the kids themselves as well. To ease that process, we have compiled the top five tips on kids modeling that we believe should be strongly adhered to.

1. Choose the right agency

Choosing the right agency takes the number one priority on the journey to becoming a kid model. The right agency is not one that is just registered but is reputable and credible. Parents/ guardians should be clear on how their child will be treated and what the future growth of their kid will look like. Any credible modeling agency would set up a good website and be very active both on online and offline platforms to market their models. As such, you will be able to see the photo shoots and past projects done by kids, and make a well-informed decision on whether to join the agency.

Most importantly, never fall prey to scams. Setting your kid up with the wrong agency can pose many risks and also destroy your kid’s genuine passion for modeling. Some important signs that will point it out are being located in suspicious areas, calling you for an appointment on irregular hours, poor online presence, requesting for sexually explicit poses and asking kids to come alone to the agency without their parents. Of course, use your wisest judgment in all cases, but parents should always follow their kid to a modeling agency and for all jobs.

2. Wear appropriately to the audition.

Not only should a kid wear simply, he or she should wear age appropriately. Suits or fancy dresses are definitely unnecessary. Solid-colored clothes are enough. Preferably stick to bright color that resemble the vibrancy and energy of a kid and it’s better to wear plain than risk rejection.

3. Set realistic schedules

If your kid looks good and is performing well as a model, there will be many opportunities coming their way. Never forego the most important priorities such as school and family time. You also never want to overstrain your kid at a young age else the result may back fire and they may lose interest in kids modeling due to fatigue or stress caused by a hectic schedule. Modeling should be a fun and unique experience for kids; else it’s not a wise pursuit.

4. Don’t spend too much on photos or clothes

It is likely that parents wishing the best for their kids end up spending a bomb on clothes and expensive photography of their kids to submit to the agency. On the contrary it isn’t necessary to send studio-quality or professional photos to a studio. Ordinary snapshots that are well taken would suffice for the application to an agency. Any good agency will be identifying the talent with ordinary photos and they will anyway take better photographs suited to the style they want to mould your kid into. Hence, save your money and your time.

5. Make sure your kid loves modeling.

Money and fame are the usual reasons why models sign up. However, it is hard to make good money or substantial fame until a model becomes successful and starts doing major projects; this is even more so for a kid. Moreover, at the onset of modeling, there will be sacrifices to make in terms of traveling to different areas of the country for photo shoots, giving up a bit of social life to accommodate modeling and so on. Hence it’s absolutely vital that a kid truly loves modeling in order to excel in it.

6 Travel Tips Everyone Should Know

Several countries, thousands of flights and endless road trips. That’s the life of a travel writer, and it teaches you a lot of fair things. I would like to share some of my travel tips with you as I found them very helpful on every trip I went on.

Be Annoying

It’s time to talk to different people. The waiter, the concierge, the bar staff or that customer sitting at the next table who looks good. Ask them questions about what to see, and you will find that people will love to share their tips and knowledge with you. Trust me many people get nervous, but starting a conversation randomly and you are just a step near to the next hidden gem.

Get Out Of The Bed

This is the most difficult thing to deal with, especially for those who love to stay in bed a little longer than usual. It’s best you get up early because there is a lot that happens before the brunch time. So get out and head out to a diner for breakfast in Washington or hit the best beach in Italy before hordes of tourists reach there. Trust me you won’t regret this one; you can sleep as much as you want once you reach home.

Keep Your Phone Charged

There is nothing worse than being out of technology due to a dead battery. Keep a power bank with you so that you are never out of battery.

Join The Cloud

That iPhone is not worth any value, and that is for one main reason: pictures. Memories are the best thing you make on trips, and without them, the charm of going on a journey will be lost. Gone are the days when you use to keep the manual backup. Apple now keeps you covered with iCloud, set your cloud up and get access to every photo and video from anywhere.

Remember Your Favourites

Remember that fantastic restaurant you went to the last time you visited New York four years ago? No? That’s bad! Next time just ask your phone to remember it, in Google Maps only write the name of the place and then hit “save”. This method will help mark it with a star so you can always go back and check it out.

Carry Cash

From Amsterdam to Cambodia, being short for money is not a great deal. You won’t find an ATM everywhere, and you can’t always use your debit/credit cards to pay for hotels, bars and restaurants. Carry an emergency cash with you around $150 in USD or the local currency of the destination you are visiting.

7 Tips To Hire A Reliable Locksmith

Locks secure our houses, vehicles and other important stuff. At times, your lock may get stuck. In this situation, you need a locksmith to get you out of trouble. But the question is, who should you call? Here are some tips for you to hire the right locksmith.

Hire a local professional

Hiring a local locksmith is less expensive. If you hire someone from a distant location, he or she may charge you for the traveling expenses as well, which will raise the total costs. On the other hand, if you hire someone from your locality, you may get in touch with him or her from time to time. As a result, you can develop trust with them.

Get referrals

You can ask around for recommendations. If you live in a small village or town, you won’t find so many locksmiths around. Your friend or neighbor may recommend a reliable professional to you. You can then meet the locksmith they recommended to see if they would suit your needs.

Go Online

Nowadays, most locksmiths have their own websites. You can check out their sites from the comfort of your home to know about their working hours, service charges and other things. This way you can know about several locksmiths in a few minutes without leaving your room.

Auto locksmiths

If you have been locked out of your car, consider an auto locksmith by surfing their website. Auto locksmiths can handle these situations very well. They will unlock your car without damaging the doorway or anything else since they are specialists.

Liability and charge

Ideally, it’s a great idea to hire an insured locksmith. This will give you a peace of mind that the insurance company will pay you in case the professional ends up damaging your property. Don’t forget to confirm the pricing prior to hiring the professional. There should be no hidden charges. You should pay what you agreed on.

Be careful

Take a look at the vehicle of the locksmith when they arrive. Does the car bear the logo or title of the company he or she works for? Before getting started, the professional should ask you for the vehicle documents. They should do so to make sure you are the real owner of the car. This is sign of a reliable and reputable locksmith.

Get ready

It is not too difficult to hire a good locksmith. If you own a car, you should get the names and contact numbers of some good locksmiths and then save the details in your phone and diary. This way you can get in touch with one in case you get into trouble down the road. Staying prepared is always a good idea.

So, you should use these 7 tips before hiring a good local locksmith. Keep in mind that it’s very important to only go for a reliable, trustworthy and experienced professional. An inexperienced professional may end up causing a severe damage to your car or house lock and you will have to bear huge costs. Hope these tips will help.

Best Tips For Travelling With Children

Traveling with children can be quite a challenge. Whether they are your own or someone else’s, assisting a child’s need for a journey involves far more than taking a CD full of songs and making sudden toilet stops. Here, I would share my hard-won wisdom about how to travel peacefully with children.

Take Your Time

The greatest thing you can take with you – whether at the airport, getting from one point to the other is extra time. Toddlers love to explore, and they don’t get bothered by the time pressure of travel, so you are more likely to all retain your cool if you reason the stalling, gawping, toilet stops and tantrums within your time frame.

Give Them A Camera To Play With

Give your little one a camera this will encourage them to observe their surroundings and capture things that interest them the most. You might be surprised at what they have to offer you. Amongst pictures of wheels and feet, you might come across pictures of flower pots, rocks, resting cat or even helicopters.

Be Prepared For Bad Weather

It’s a general advice, dress your child appropriately and comfortably so that a little bad weather may not affect their mood and they stay happy.

Book Earlier

Whether you are staying in a hotel or camping, it’s worth booking earlier. Trying to keep the naturalness of travel before children does not pay off if you reach your destination to find that you can’t bag a bed or pitch the camp and have to hit the road again all hungry and tired with toddlers giving you a hard time in the backseat.

Be App Savvy

Thanks to the kid-friendly apps these days there is no need for you to cram a box full of toys and coloring books in your hand luggage when traveling. But in case your phone runs out of battery and to be on the safe side take a book and magic color pen with you.

Do Buy A Child Tracker

Toddlers are not a big fan of reins or backpacks with leash, or any kind of violation of their freedom. So in order to keep a track of your little one invest in a child locator. The child will wear a small unit strapped to its belt or shoe and you keep a transmitter. If you lose your child then set off the alarm and follow the sound so that you find the child.

Follow these tips and you will have a peaceful journey with your family. Enjoy!

Travel Tips And Advice – Travelling With A Disability

A disability should not stop you from travelling, but a chance to try different travel options. The three key challenges to travel with a disability are – transport, toilets and accommodation. We will provide you with Trusty Travel Tips and advice that will assist you on your next travel adventure.

Don’t get hung up on how accessible a place is, focus on all the activities you can do!

Planning Your Adventure

When you are travelling with a disability or travelling with someone with a disability, the most important thing for a smooth vacation is correct planning. Don’t go overboard and plan your holiday down to the last minute, but all your accommodation and transport should be booked before you leave home.

You should research the accessibility of your transport and accommodation options, and also for the activities you are planning. Ask questions about access to buildings, the number of steps, how wide are the doorways and lifts and is there easy access from the car park. And for your accommodation, off course ask whether there are disabled toilets and showers, and if there is enough space in your room for a wheelchair.

When contacting places, you need to be specific about your own limitations, so that different options can be put in place to cater for you. The best place to get information is from other travellers who have done it before. Otherwise you should try local tourist information centres.

Make sure you pack all essential and necessary medications, and bring with you any necessary prescriptions. Also make sure you pack extras of any medical or personal equipment that you might require.

Choosing The Right Transport

One of the biggest difficulties when travelling with a limitation is choosing the right transport and especially getting on and off public transport. Once you have planned your itinerary, you need to research your options between locations or cities. The best way to find accessible transport is to talk to “customer relations” or the person in charge of ‘specific needs customers’. They will be able to provide exact information on the transport options.

Catching a plane can be a daunting experience! When you book your ticket, let the airline know your limitations and specific consideration should be provided. Be sure to check with your airline to make sure it has accessible toilets before booking a long haul flight.

Many people with a disability will forget figuring out the best transport all together, and will take a cruise holiday – either a river cruise or a large cruise liner. This way all of your luggage will stay in the one place, you don’t need to find an accessible restaurant or toilet, and many of the activities are brought to you.

Other good options are:

Hiring a camper van that is wheelchair accessible
Take a train holiday in Western Europe – most trains are ideal with easy access and accessible toilets.

Finding An Accessible Toilet

Research is essential to finding accessible toilets. Many toilets say that they are accessible, when they are clearly are not. Don’t find out the hard way! Asking at the tourist information centres for up to date information.

Places to look for an accessible toilet is at museums or art galleries, fast food restaurants or at modern train stations. Some travellers will plan what activities they do or attractions they see each day by where they can find an accessible toilet.

What is The Best Accommodation

It will be hard to find the perfect accommodation when you’re travelling, except if you are willing to pay for it. Research is essential before you go to find a place that is accessible.

A good hotel will have accessible car parks that have easy access to the hotel. They will normally have a lift and even a porter service. Most will have a restaurant or food service on-site for easy access. Make sure you tell your accommodation when you are booking about your limitations, what equipment you might have and what assistance you may require.

A good idea is to stay in accommodation in a central location. It will be easier to visit local attractions and these attractions will be close-by. You might even be able to do day trips away from the city. This way you avoid the need to move all your luggage again.

Other Great Tips And Advice

If you are in a wheelchair and have someone to push you, take a manual chair. It will take up less space then an electric chair and it doesn’t require recharging.
Allow your family or carers to have a holiday too. Let them do activities that they choose. This way they will want to travel with you again and it might give everyone some needed time apart.
Have your wheelchair cleaned and serviced before you leave. Make sure you have checked the batteries and all moving parts are in working order. Also research who you could contact if you have a major breakdown on the road.
If you have an electric wheelchair, take spare travel adapters so that you don’t get caught out.

The most important tips and advice is for you and your family / carer to enjoy your holiday. Enjoy each day and its new adventures, new sights, new culture and the new things to be learnt.

Travel Tips: How To Save Money While Traveling

Travelling abroad might seem to be an unobtainable aim, particularly if you have additional expenses of taking the family with you. Nonetheless, there are several ways through which you can help in planning a trip just as economical as travelling within your country. In fact, any wise traveller can expect to take a lifetime vacation as long as they take time in properly planning and scrutinising their options for a well-budgeted and planned holiday.

Take Long Trips

One of the best ways to save money while travelling is by taking longer trips rather than going on a short trip. The longer your vacation is, the more time you will have for slow transportation. You will save money by taking fewer flights. Instead of paying 200 bucks for a short flight, you can take a 6-hour bus trip.

Keep Track of Your Spending

One of the biggest problems for me is to keep a track on my spending, so I jot down every time I visit the ATM to withdraw cash, especially when I’m travelling to some country where the ATMs might run out of money at any time. If you write it down you will see how often you take out money and think ahead asking yourself whether you need to take out 200 bucks a week and if you keep on doing that will you have enough money to complete your trip. If you don’t, then you need to cut back.

Travel During Off Season

Before you plan your trip its best to do some research and see when is the best time to go – the best time to travel is mostly after or before the tourist month kicks off. Normally, the offseason is either scorching hot or the monsoon in several places which is not a good choice usually but still is a better time to travel due to economical fares.

Shopping Near Tourists Attractions -Big NO!

This something you should already be aware of, but many times I have seen people ignoring this one so it must be known well enough. These prices are normally quite higher and instead you should look for a local market to do your shopping from there.

Careful On Food Spending

I’m worst at this one because I’m a foodaholic, fifty percent of my budget is dedicated to food and drinks. So here are a few tips:

Try not to eat at universal joints where the menu has a little bit of everything.
Try not to eat at beach restaurants they are usually higher in prices.
Do order takeaway as some restaurants charge luxury fees, service charges and seating fees.
If you are staying at a condo or a hotel and you have access to the kitchen then cook sometimes.
When it comes to drinking, it’s best that you buy some liquor from the general store rather than heading to the pub or the bar.

Useful Tips for Choosing an Airport Taxi Service

Getting to the airport isn’t the easiest thing and can be more difficult for those travelling with a lot of luggage and family members. One option to forget about the logistics of reaching the airport on time is to make use of an airport taxi service. This can remove a lot of the stress and worry, but is still important to schedule the pickup to match the specific needs.

Here are a few tips to make sure the airport taxi service provides a prompt and timely package:

Plan ahead

A simple step that can make things go smoothly is to book the taxi well in advance. Make sure there is enough time to easily reach the airport without feeling rushed. Try to calculate the travel distance and add an extra hour or more in the event of heavy traffic. Also, if travelling during busy travel times, such as bank holidays, it may be worth adding a little more time.

Pay attention to reputation

Investigate two or three different companies and aim to identify one that is highly rated for providing a reliable deal in the local area. Use online reviews to get an idea of the quality and reputable of a potential company. Find one that has the courteous drivers and appreciated for providing timely pickups and drops-offs.

Most companies are quite similar, so it helps to ring around and get a price for the ride to the airport. Many quote a flat fee to travel from home to the airport, as well as any other pickups on the way. Also, make sure the preferred company has the necessary licensing and credentials to offer this particular type of service.

Amount of space

One of the important things to check is the amount of space for passengers and luggage that the vehicle can accept. The vehicles can vary significantly in size with a standard vehicle able to accept a couple with minimal luggage to the larger vehicle that can easily take six or seven passengers in comfort.

For those travelling with a lot of bags, it may be necessary to ask for a larger vehicle.

Call before pickup

Even if the airport taxi service has been booked and reserved in advance, it still may be worth giving the company a call a few hours before it should arrive at the pickup address to make sure it will be arriving on time.
